If you want to become an officer of the law, ask yourself this: Am I doing this for the bragging rights? Or am doing this so I know I am doing the right thing? Or I want to protect the citizens in my county or state? If you said the first one then you probably won’t need to know how to become a cop because that is not the right reason to be one. If you are doing because it is right, and you want the duty of helping others, then you will know what it will take on how to become a cop.
Going into something for the wrong reasons will make you hate in the out run in the career.

Many people become officers of the law because it was there life dream, or their dad was one, it can be any reason why they want to become an officer. If there dad or relative taught them on how to become a cop, then they probably going to go for it.
Usually a lot people go become an officer for the wrong reasons as well; such for their own selfish ways and because the money. You are in for a surprise! Don’t do it for the pay because there pay is only thirty five grand a year. Doesn’t sound much for the people that protect us, right? So don’t do it for the money either. Do it because you want to and you know it is the right thing to do. Remember, do this if you think this will make you happy.
Then you have people that are in it because they have no other choice. They are wrong in doing this to. If this is your last resort, then this job probably isn’t going to be for you. You probably won’t have what it takes to how to become a cop.
Become an officer for the love of helping other, not in any other selfish way. If you want to this, then that is different. Remember, just don’t do for the money or glory, do it for the people that may need you.
How do I get in?
To become an officer you are going to have to have a clean background. If you have a criminal background, then your chances are very slim. You can go get it expunged, or sealed off. The best way to keep from getting a criminal record is to stay away for people influences. Another great way is the stay away from drugs and no drunk driving, or if you just had one, still don’t drive.
You are going to have to ready yourself on how to become a cop by getting yourself ready for the action that is waiting out in the law. That is why there are police training faculties or academies.
They will have people willing to teach you the right way on how to become a cop. They will get you ready for the stuff that is out in streets.
